Tuscany

Tuscany is a region that has worked with its hands for a thousand years — and that goes on doing so, today, across ten territories that hold each other by the hand from the Alpi Apuane down to the Maremma.

Here marble is born out of the mountains, gold is beaten in the city workshops, leather is tanned along the Arno and cloth is regenerated in the districts that wrote the industrial history of Europe. Every province has its own material, its own gesture, its own manufacturing dialect. Together they make a network that is at once ancient and contemporary: where a goldsmith from the Ponte Vecchio meets a nurseryman from Pistoia, where a ceramicist from Siena speaks the same language as a tinsmith from Livorno.

MANUARTI was born to give this network a voice. To give it back the scale it deserves, far from folklore: that of a living productive geography, in which every territory carries its own identity and every craft has real roots.

And then there is the other Tuscany — the one you eat, drink and pour. The olive oil of the Maremma, the wine of Chianti, the cinta senese, the mortadella of Prato. Every province cultivates its own agricultural knowledge as it cultivates its own craft: with the same patience, the same stubbornness, the same pride. The MANUARTI network takes in this part as well — because the Tuscany that makes with its hands is the same one that cooks with its heart.
